We’re back with a brand-new episode of the Southwest Barrels Podcast — and this one’s got heart.
In Episode 12, I talk about what it’s like attending barrel races even when I’m not working. A lot of folks ask why I show up with no camera in hand, and the answer is simple: I love it. I love catching up with riders, watching the PeeWee and youth runs, and just being part of the community without the stress of shooting every rider.

I also share the story behind The Southwest Barrels Binder of Awesome, which has quickly become a favorite among riders. It’s packed with free photo prints — and seeing riders light up when they realize the photos are theirs to keep has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
And of course, I talk a little about Positive Pete, the star of our new children’s book series. Pete is all about encouragement, resilience, and staying positive no matter what barrel life throws at you.

Next week’s episode will cover some exciting changes coming to the Southwest Barrels website — including ways we’re making it easier to find photos, view schedules, and connect with the community.
Until then, enjoy the ride.
