Tell us about yourself, what state do you live in, what are your hobbies when you are not riding?
I was born in Illinois and moved to Arizona at a young age. I have always been interested in horses however I just started competing about 7 years ago. Riding is my life I’m either sleeping or racing. I train/season barrel horses for a man out of North Dakota so that’s my life basically, working with performance horses.
What is your favorite arena to ride in?
Honestly I haven’t been to many different arenas I have not found my favorite yet, my horses are picky on ground but as of right now I think I’d have to say Welcome Home Ranch and Horseshoe park (outdoor) are my go to arenas.
Who is your favorite barrel racer?
My favorite barrel racer is Sherry Cervi. She works with many horses which she trains herself on barrels and I’ve watched her work them in time onlies, she doesn’t always have the best runs but she doesn’t give up and is always positive to the public. She supports the youth riders in many ways, she’s kind and loves her horses. Sherry is very natural, she doesn’t try to stand out and she rides super quiet unlike some barrel racers in today’s world.
If you could ask a famous barrel racer a question who would it be and what question would you ask them?
If I could ask any famous barrel racer a question I’d have to ask Fallon Taylor or Sherry Cervi how they started with nothing and made it to the top and how they were able to make it to the NFR.
What is your fastest time? What type of pattern?
Quite honestly I couldn’t tell you, I have run so many races with so many different pattern sizes and different horses. However I have had many many 1D wins in the past 3 years I couldn’t count. I’ve been given the opportunity with so many outstanding horses it’s unbelievable.
